Senior Designer and Junior Web Designer/Developer

We are a recently funded startup focusing on media and ehealth:

http://biobeats.com

We're making things mhealth apps, through highly engaging adaptive media: music and visuals created in real-time that adapt to data. Think music apps that track your mood using cardiovascular data, and can create or find music that suits it.

We won this years' EchoNest prize at SXSW, where we were finalists in the music accelerator, and we just closed a successful round of angel funding including Eniac Ventures, Zhen Fund, Ken Hertz, Kevin Colleran (Facebook), Will Smith and will.i.am, which gives us a solid one year runway.

It's time we got serious about our web presence and development strategy, and we want you to help.

We’re looking for a talented junior front-end web designer/developer, initially for 3 months on a contract basis, but hopefully full time from thereon. As we're distributed across Los Angeles, the UK and Italy, but our London team is small (for now), we mostly work from home and meet up one or two days a week at Campus.

Stuff we'd like you to know: HTML5/CSS3/JS (responsive), wordpress, node.js (but if you know JS well, it's ok if you've never played with node yet, we'll show you).

We're also looking for a passionate senior designer who cares about health, mental and phsyiological. We're going to go from cool music apps to treating cystic fibrosis, so you will lead design vision across a host of apps from iOS/Android to hardware products.

Things we'd like you to bring: solid iOS/Android chops mostly from the UI/UX perspective (we cover everything else), an understanding of Dieter Rams and cognitive burden (and why we need to achieve near-zero on that scale for our work to have real impact), an ability to work with distributed teams, and familiarity with Git and task tracking (Pivotal).
